Church Leadership

The leadership of Sturtevant Chapel is carried out through its Council of Elders, comprised of the Pastor and several Elders.

Pastor:

Pastor Tom Brown attended Lancaster Bible College, where he received a Teaching Bible in the Secondary degree. He furthered his education at Liberty Theological Seminary, completing a Master of Arts in Religious Studies, and also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Rice Seminary.

In June of 2024, Pastor Tom accepted the call to serve at Sturtevant and relocated to Keene with his wife, Holly, and their three daughters: Abby, Sarah and Hannah. Tom says his goal in pastoring is “to preach God’s Word and love God’s people.”

Elders:

Mark Adams – Mark began attending Sturtevant in 1987. He is actively involved in the daily administration of the church, serves as moderator, and chairs the bylaws committee. Mark lives in Lempster with his wife, Wendy.

Phil Dunn, Chairman – Phil grew up attending Sturtevant Chapel and studied at Lancaster Bible College. Phil has directed the music and worship ministries at Sturtevant for many years and continues to lead the vocals at Sunday morning services. Phil and his wife, Sue, live in Sullivan.

Joel Hannon – Joel has been attending Sturtevant for 36 years. In addition to chairing the Finance Board, Joel teaches our youngest kids at Junior Church. Joel and Nancy, his wife, live in Troy.

Administrative Assistant:

Annie Fernandez - Annie began attending Sturtevant Chapel in 2016 and became a member in 2017. Since then, she has served on the Kidz Konnection program, Hospitality, Deaconesses, Global Outreach, and Praise Team.
