Church Leadership

The leadership of Sturtevant Chapel is carried out through its Council of Elders, comprised of several Elders and the Pastor.

Mark Adams – Mark began attending Sturtevant in 1987. He is actively involved in the daily administration of the church, serves as moderator, and chairs the bylaws committee. Each Sunday, Mark teaches the Children’s Message during service, often delighting the kids with unexpected surprises. Mark lives in Lempster with his wife, Wendy.

Phil Dunn, Chairman – Phil grew up attending Sturtevant Chapel and studied at Lancaster Bible College. Phil has directed the music and worship ministries at Sturtevant for many years and continues to lead the vocals at Sunday morning services. Phil is also integral to the Wednesday night children’s ministry, developing and teaching the curriculum for the program. Phil and his wife, Sue, live in Sullivan.

Joel Hannon – Joel has been attending Sturtevant for 33 years. In addition to chairing the Finance Board, Joel teaches our youngest kids at Junior Church, and shares his gift of music by playing bass on the Praise Team every Sunday. Joel and Nancy, his wife, live in Troy.

Following the retirement of Pastor Steve Aldrich in January, the Sturtevant Chapel family is currently searching for our next pastor. During this time, we are welcoming guest pastors from around the region to preach at our Sunday service.

Administrative Assistant:

Annie Fernandez - Annie began attending Sturtevant Chapel in 2016 and became a member in 2017. Since then, she has been helping with the Kidz Konnection program and has served on Hospitality, Deaconesses and the Global Outreach Team.
